 Saturday, June 15th2:00 PM – 4:00 PMRabb Lecture HallBoston Public Library Copley Branch – Boston, MAIn honor of Juneteenth, join in for a free film screening and panel discussion in partnership with Self-Evident Education and the National Parks Service: Boston.The program will begin with a screening of two short documentary films produced by Self-Evident Education: If You Cross This Boundary, We All Die, about Ellen and William Craft’s journey of self-emancipation from Georgia to Boston and beyond; and Freedom’s Battle at Christiana, the story of the Christiana Resistance of 1851, produced by Self-Evident Education for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Following the film screenings, there will be a panel discussion and audience Q&A with filmmakers Michael Lawrence-Riddell and Khalif Neville; Wellesley College professor and author of We Refuse: A Forceful History of Black Resistance, Dr. Kellie Carter-Jackson; UMass Boston professor and Hip-hop artist, Akrobatik; and Boston African American National Historic Site Park Ranger Shawn Quigley.
